Paul McCartney told to ‘let it be’ by farmers

Sir Paul McCartney’s Meat Free Monday campaign has drawn a spirited – and amusing – response from farmers posting on FWiSpace.

The NFU has already branded the initiative ‘gimmicky’ and farmers posting on the forums have been quick to agree.

But AK, who is based in North Yorks, gets the prize for the most imaginative response. She writes:

“Mr McCartney – let it be.  We farmers work 8 days a week and we can’t work it out why a day tripper like you is acting like the fool on the hill.

Run for your life and take a magical mystery tour in your yellow submarine down a very long and winding road.

Because with a little help from my friends, I’ve got a feeling you are nowhere man and perhaps all you need is love, because it is all too much.

This is just a friendly message from me to you.”
