Both supreme overall and reserve titles have gone to Balymle Bollinger sons – the same bull that sired the record-breaking 70,000gns bull in October last year.
And it was bulls put forward by J Irvine & Son who run the Inverlochy herd at Kirkmichael, Tomintoul, Ballindalloch, that reigned supreme.

The title of supreme Charolais champion has gone to today’s junior champion Inverlochy Fencer (lot 442), while the reserve overall champion title went to today’s intermediate champion Inverlochy Ferdie (lot 416).

Today’s champion, (pictured above) Inverlochy Fencer is a Balmyle Bollinger son, out of Inverlochy Volga.  He was overall interbreed senior champion at the Stars of the Future show in Forfar in November 2011, and boasts a SRI of +56 and a TSI of +44.

Meanwhile, the reserve (pictured above), Inverlochy Ferdie, is also a Balmyle Bollinger son, and out of Inverlochy Une.  He is a full borther to Inverlochy Edict who sold for 11,000gns at this fixture last year.  He boasts a SRI of +47 and a TSI of +40.
Judge Martin Ryan of Copperfield House, Cabra Thurles, Co Tipperary said:  “The champion was probably the most perfectly conformed animal I have come across in my time of judging cattle.
“And strangely I have never seen a champion and reserve to be so like each other .  The reserve was a little bit shorter than the champion and not as much in the line, but outside of that I think they were almost prototypes of each other.”
