New managing director at Aviagen Turkeys

Clay Burrows is to replace Ian Hamilton as managing director of Aviagen Turkeys.

Mr Hamilton, who has been with Aviagen for 15 years, has decided to “pursue some different challenges” as his 50th birthday approaches. He hands leadership over to Mr Burrows at the end of this year.

Mr Burrows brings with him many years’ experience in the poultry sector to the role. Most recently he was agricultural director at Cranberry Foods, and previously worked at Grampian Food Group.

He said: “With the support of our shareholders and world-class colleagues, I will be able to lead Aviagen Turkeys Ltd to continue to grow, in what is a very challenging marketplace.”

Cranberry Foods was taken over by poultry integrator Faccenda earlier this year.
