The top price of 4,000gns was for the homebred fourth calver Ruckhall Shottle Veetara EX90. The Picston Shottle sired cow was two weeks calved having given 9,503kg with her last calf. She was purchased by Tegwyn and Mary Davies of the Caeremlyn herd at Whitland, Carmarthenshire.
The fifth calver Ecstasy BSP Outside Kitty EX91 sold for 3,100gns. The fifth generation Comestar Outside daughter was dry carrying an August calf by Crackholm Fever. She was purchased by Sion Davies, one of a load of 38 destined for his new dairy unit being established near
Her daughter, the 11 month old Ruckhall Goldwyn Kitty by Braedale Goldwyn sold for 2,400gns to the Withyland herd of T J Cracknell and Sons Newent, Gloucestershire.
Her full brother, the three year old stock bull Ruckhall Goldwyn made 3,000gns being purchased by S and A May of Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
The Caeremlyn herd of Tegwyn and Mary Davies also gave 3,000gns for the third calver Barmere Drake Blomke VG89. The four week calved Drake daughter was giving 42kgs daily.
Calved heifers sold to 2,950gns for Davlea Lyman Roxy GP83, a Comestar Lyman daughter from the renowned Roxy family. She was purchased by T J Cracknell and Sons for their Withyland herd.
In-calf heifers peaked at 2,000gns for Ruckhall Squawbuck Kimo. The Richaven Squawbuck daughter was purchased by W R & E M Evans of Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
