Scottish Winter Fair goes ahead

The Scottish National Fatstock Club is continuing with its plans to hold the Scottish Winter Fair at the Royal Highland Showground on Wednesday 21st November 2007 in its usual format.

Club secretary, Hazel McFadzean has ongoing communication with SEERAD who are advising that if the situation does not change, then the show will be able to go ahead with livestock as usual. Bio-security arrangements will be in place to ensure all requirements will be met.
he closing date for entries should be Friday 12 October, but they have been disrupted due to the postal strike and Hazel said she would continue to accept entries until 18th October. Anyone in doubt as to whether their entries have been received should contact Hazel.

Most of the judging will take place in three rings in the Highland Hall on Wednesday 21st November and the commercial calf section will be judged on Tuesday evening.

The ever-popular Marks and Spencer Premier Meat Exhibition takes place at Perth Agricultural Centre on Wednesday 28th September with the carcases being judged at Scotbeef, Bridge of Allan on 1st December.

Another popular element to the Scottish Winter Fair are the Highland and Shetland Pony classes which take place at Perth Agricultural Centre on Saturday 24th November.
