Sedgemoor collective dairy sale hits 2550gns twice

South West Holstein breeders saw prices top at 2550gns twice at the May Collective dairy sale at Sedgemoor, with the first to make this money being Checkley Talent Sweetheart from Nick Goss. This ET bred heifer calved in early May and was sold giving 30kg a day.

The other at this price was Moorshard Alarm Shower from the Miller family. She is out of an Ex91 dam and has six Excellent and VG classified daughters.

Making 2300gns was Dorset Stormy Princess from Ian Diamond, while Swallodale Jasper Bluebell 131 from A and J E Ewings sold at 2250gns.

Averages;  4 Holstein cows £1417.50, 34 Holstein calved heifers £1971.84, 56 Holstein in-calf heifers £1394.00, one Jersey in-calf heifer £682.50, one Holstein bull £1059.00, one heifer calf £357.00 (Greenslade Taylor Hunt).
