Sheep breed judging complete at Royal Highland

Well that’s the end of the sheep breed judging here at Ingliston today and in the Beltex classes the championship went to Ross Williams with a shearling tup, while reserve went to Mary Dunlop with the second prize shearling from the same class.2362011 RHS Beltex.JPGWinning the Rouge was Percy Tait with an aged ewe and reserve was Percy again, this time with a shearling tup.

Zwartbles champion was Ross Williams with an aged ram and reserve was A J Thorburn with a ewe lamb.

Taking the Scotch Mule championship was Iain Minto with a ewe and reserve was James Warnock with a shearling ewe.

Then in the Bleu breed the champion was a shearling ewe from Peter Fraser and reserve was Laine Duff with an aged ewe.

It’s a hard call to say what will be out in front come the interbreed championship tomorrow. I’d say the Texel may not be far away as could the Suffolk, but equally I’d not discount the North Country champion either. Tomorrow will tell…..
