Shorthorn females in demand at Stirling

Shorthorn females were in rip-roaring demand from a packed ringside, with prices peaking at 4800gns for the female champion from Charles Lowther. This was Lowther Crocus 206, a Chapelton Zebec daughter out of Glenisla Crocus, a Dunsyre Mercenary daughter. She sold with a TSI of +17 and an SRI of +16 and was bought by Drayton Farm Partnership, Hampshire.

Then at 3800gns was Glenisla Catriona Rosebud, a March 2009-born heifer from Major Gibb. This Fearn Wyvish daughter is out of Folda Glenisla Catriona Rosebud 5, an Uppermill Lance daughter. She sold with a TSI of +19 and an SRI of +18 to I Chrisianson.

Selling at 3500gns was another from the same home, Glenisla Crocus C662, another by Fearn Wyvish and this time out of Glenisla Crocus 13, a WF Tornado, with a TSI of +23 and SRI of +21. She also went home with I Christianson.

Following that at 3300gns was a cow and calf outfit from Leslie Sheach, Cairnsmore Zingy Star. This Tofts Genoan Prince is out of Trunley Lillian Star, a CF Tiger X daughter. She sold with her heifer calf at foot to I Grouse, Cornwall.

A trio then collected bids of 3000gns, the first being Lowther Melody 229 from Charles Lowther. This is by Chapelton Zebec and out of Lowther Melody, an Uppermill Sherlock daughter. She sold in calf to LS Artic and with a TSI of +19 and an SRI of +15. Buyer was I Fanshawe, Naseby.

And the final transaction at this price saw Major Gibb sell Glenisla Flower C688. Again by Wyvish, she is out of Glenisla Flower R35 and sold in calf to Clansman too. She also traded to Mr Hall.
