Shorthorn females top bull trade at Perth

Beef Shorthorn females met a smarter trade than their male counterparts at Perth with a top price of 5500gns paid for John Gibb’s in-calf heifer Glenisla Flower. By Fearn Wyvish and out of Glenisla Flower, she sold to join the Scott family’s Fearn herd, Ross-Shire.

Next best was a 4800gns call for James Porter’s September 2005-born heifer Blythesome June, this one is by Chapelton Touchstone and out of Blythesome Justice and heads to Mr Bell at Eden Lodge.

Selling at 3800gns was Messrs McAlister’s heifer Langalbuinoch Zola, this one is also by a Chapelton sire, Chapelton Promoter, and out of bought-in dam Glenisla Waterloo.

Three sold at 3200gns, the first was Mr Gibb’s Glenisla Desiree, by Belmore Fuel Injected, the second was Mr Russel’s Craigie Water Lily who sold to join Landers Bargaly and the third was Donald Biggar’s Chapelton Heathermaid, bought by Mr Oliver of Liskeard, Cornwall.
