Simmental females sell to 3500gns in Carlisle

Leading a small entry of four bulls and 10 females forward for the Simmental show and sale at Carlisle last week was the January 2003 cow and calf Wroxall Posh Lilly, forward from L and A Curry, Bristol, Somerset, who sold for 3500gns.


By Milnafua Grenade and out of Wroxhall Judy Lilly which goes back to Strathisla Capricorn, Posh Lilly sold with her heifer calf at foot by Kilbride Farm Newry to J A Madely and Son, Ross on Wye, Herefordshire. Topping male trade was Ben-Nant Trader from Messrs Raymond, Carmarthenshire, which sold for 2600gns. This Corskie Norman son is out of a home bred feamle going back to Hockenhull Jaguar goes to G ellwood and Son, Cumbria along with the overall championship ticket.


The reserve feamle champion from S White, Tarporley, Cheshire sold for the 1800gns. Tirley Melissas Jasmine is by Forsdale Lucky Charm and out of a home bred dam, she sold to Castel Hill Partners, Blunsdon, Swindon.
