Simmental sets breed record at Ballymote

Northern Ireland buyers just couldn’t get enough of the commercial Simmental heifers at Ballymote recently with a significant number purchased. This included the top price on the day of E4340 which was a new record price for the event which was paid for a  in calf heifer bred by Gerry Lenehan, Co Sligo. Sired by Rathlee Trevor and in calf to Curaheen Tyson, this outstanding heifer was snapped up by Carrickmore father and son Eugene and Tony Hughes who are regular buyers at this event.
