Skipton Beltex hit 3400gns for Bishops ewe lamb

Trade for Beltex at Skipton Mart on Saturday hit a peak of 3400gns when Andrew and Becky Bishop sold their pre-sale champion, a ewe lamb by Fort View Knight to William Warren, Gomersal, Bradford. This one is out of Bishops Maple, a Luggsmill Jethro daughter.In the males the best price was a 2000gns bid for the reserve overall and male champion, Northern Beltex Paul from David Findlay. This one, by Shelton Whin Lucky Dip and out of Northern Beltex Lady Diane sold in a two-way split to Kate Marshall and Bob Kirby. a quarter share was retained for the Pioneer flock belonging to the Findlay family’s children.

The Northern Beltex flock also sold well in the aged rams, when Northern Beltex Mistral, a two shear tup bred by Mr Findlay and bought as a lamb by David Bridge, Guisborough, sold at 1300gns. He went to the Hall family, Inglewood Edge.

In the shearling tups the third prize shearling from the pre-sale show from Michael Davis, Eldroth, a Westerdale Leonardo son, sold at 1250gns to Andrew Rigby, Slaidburn.
