Skipton sheepdogs reach 2750gns top call

Last week’s sale of sheepdogs at Skipton Market hit a top call of 2750gns for the first dog to be sold, Jess a 15 month old black and white smooth coated bitch from Lancashire breeder Tony Birkett. By Derak Scrimgeour’s Ben and out of Mr Birkett’s Mossy she sold to Maurice Gregory, Buxton.

At 2600gns was one from Tony’s brother Colin, tri-coloured bitch Pat. This one is by Mac from renowned Welsh breeder J A S Gilchrist and out of Colin’s Molly. She sold to Maurice Gregory’s son Ian for future trials work.

Also at this money was Fly, a red and white bitch from Arthur Kirkham, Blaby. She is by Cockburn Charlie and sold to Trevor Procter, Kirkby Stephen for farm work.

Selling at 2500gns was Zac a June 2003-born black and white dog from Tom Lawrrenson, Chorley. He is by Jim Cropper#s Sid out of Tom’s Tillymaud Nell and sold to Sandra Jones, Gloucester.
