Skipton Texels sell to 900gns twice

A joint top call of 900gns was the highlight of Saturday’s trade at Skipton’s in-lamb Texel sale. First to make this price was the show champion from Mark and Helen Keighley. This one is by Claybury Osprey and was sold in-lamb to Moor Top Pharoah and sold to Edward Fawcett, Sand Hutton.

The other to make this money was the reserve champion, this time from Stuart Currie’s Beautry flock. This one was by Millar’s Omen and sold carrying lambs to Beautry Panama. She went home with Andrew and William Warren, Cleckheaton.

Selling for 800gns was a daughter of Meinspride Noble from Angela Nairey. This one, in-lamb to Meinspride Oasis, sold to David Towell.

Top call in the older ewes on offer was a 250gns bid for a 2007-born Castlecairn Kennedy daughter from Jennifer Lodge. This one sold in lamb to Kelso Pure Perfection. She was bought by C Harrison, Blubberhouses. Mr Harisson then paid the same money for a Clougher Krispoe daughter from Jill Perrings, this was in-lamb to Ballynahone Nutcracker.

Averages; shearling ewes £284, ewes £228 (Craven Cattle Marts).
