Steers tops £1,480 at annual Darlington show and sale

Darlington Farmers Auction Mart held its annual show and sale of Suckled Calves and Store Cattle on Monday- with a tremendous show of cattle forward and a ringfull of buyers.

Supreme Champion on the day was an exceptional homebred British Blue Steer consigned by H E Jewitt, Lodge House Farm, Cornsay and judged by Elaine Sedgewick, Long Myers Farm, Sherburn. This champion was purchased by Michael Robinson, East Alwent Farm, Staindrop for £1,480.

1.jpgReserve Champion was a homebred Limousin Steer consigned by N Swinbank, Cold Comfort Farm and was bought by the judge Miss Sedgewick, Long Myers Farm for £1,050.


4.jpgChampion Bull was a superb Limousin consigned by P Littlefair, Donnewell, which realised £1,180 and was purchased by J A Matten, Avenue Grange.
