Stirling Simmental females top at 4500gns twice

Two bids of 4500gns led trade for Simmental females, withboth animals coming from Iain Green’s Corskie herd. The first was the secondprize Corskie Vixen, a March 2007-bron daughter of Ballinlare Farm Nightriderout of Corskie Gilly 764.

This one has had a successful show career this yearand was sold in calf to Corskie Valant 2 to Messrs Evans, Caratton.

Next at the same money was the female champion CorskieValerie, again by Nightrider and of the same age, Valerie is out of the CorskieEclipse daughter Corskie Diana 3 and sold to R M S and A D Pettit,Banffshire.

At 3400gns the Wilson family sold Cairnview Beth 9, aJanuary 2004 female by Dirnanean Jacob out of the Scottish Neff daughter CairnviewBeef 7th. With a milk figure of +8 and a self replacing index of+27, she sold to J P McCaig, Airdrie, Lanarkshire. Another from the same vendor,Cairnview Modesty 3, a Sterling Flint September 2007-born heifer out ofRavensowrth Modesty, sold for 3000gns to Messrs Tallentire, Appleby, Cumbria.

John Young of Skerrington was next in the money selling his reserve female championApril 2008-born heifer Skerrington Twinkel 6 to David and Lesley Sapsed, Hertfordshire,for their Heathbrow herd. This one is a daughter of Sterling Nelson 2 and outof the Whitemere King Kong daughter Skerrington Twinkel.
