Store champ sells for £1,200 at Caithness sale

Champion at the Aberdeen and Northern Marts September store cattle show and sale at the Caithness Livestock Centre, Quoybrae was David Kennedy.

Mr Kennedy, of Tresdale, Canisbay, took the title with a 15-month-old 586kg Limousin heifer, which sold for £1,200 to David Brown, Burnside of Dipple, Fochabers, Moray.

In the event, a total of 1,374 cattle were sold. Bullocks (764), averaged 200.8p per kg (+15.1p on the year) and sold to £1,340. Heifers (610) averaged 189.3p per kg (+9.3p) and sold to £1,250.
