Strong Lleyn turnout at Carlisle

Last week’s inaugural show and sale of Lleyn prime lambs, Borderway Mart, Carlisle saw good prices for quality sheep. The champion pen forward by M/s Fell, Chapel Farm, Bassenthwaite sold at 38kg £66.50 to Rob Skelton.


Taking reserve champion was M/s Wilson, Scales Farm whose 40kg lamb made £69.80 to Andrew Dawson.


For purebred Lleyns prices topped at £67.80 for a 51kg lamb from Mr Morton, Bank Hall, with a 40kg lamb from M/s Geldard selling for £58.80, both to Welsh Country.  


Cross lambs out of Lleyn ewes topped at £69.80 for a 40kg lamb from M/s Wilson selling to A Dawson.
