Strong store entry forward for Caithness next Monday

Some 860 of the county’s top store cattle will be present at a new event due to take place at Caithness Livestock Centre next monday (July 9).

Notable consignments due to go under the hammer include 80 from Stainland and Sibmister Farms, 60 from Hoy at Castletown, 40 from Forsie and 35 each from Hillhead at Lybster, Rattar Mains at Castletown and Quarryside at Castletown. A total of 40 breeding cattle will also be on sale. The show will commence at 9am with the sale starting at 10am.

The day is part of Caithness Livestock Centre’s revised calendar of sales for 2007, formed following consultation with farmers in the county. The Centre is also currently undergoing major upgrading and improvement work, with additional penning and upgraded weighbridge and handling facilities being installed in time to cope with the busy autumn season.
