Strong trade for prime cattle and sheep at Dingwall

A total of 62 prime cattle and 752 prime sheep sold at a recent auction in Dingwall with an increase in average prices.

In the cattle sale, a total of 35 prime bullocks sold to an average of 199.5p/kg (up 4.5p), and sold to 211kg a kg, and £1,509.30 gross for a 770kg Limousin x from Brae-Edge Farm, Olrig.

While a total of 27 prime heifers sold to an average of 199.5p/kg, and sold to 218p/kg, and £1,314.45 gross for a 635kg Charolais x from Bridgend Farm, Dingwall.

Sheep trade saw a total of 752 new season lambs sell to an average of 170.1p/kg (up 7.1p), and sold to 193.3p/kg and £87 gross for 45kg Beltex crosses from Torgorm, Conon Bridge to Fraser Brother Butchers, Dingwall.
