Local sheep farmer, Michael Parker, Winterburn once again achieved back-to-back-wins with his store lambs at Skipton.

Taking the honours with a 40 strong pen of Suffolk-cross lambs, they sold for £43.50 a head to Messrs Lea and Son, Barnsley. The lambs caught the eye of judge Tony England, who is also a regular buyer of both store and ewe lambs at Skipton.

Mr England went on to buy second prize Continental-cross lambs from M J and P J Campbell, Arncliffe, bought for £36.80 each. The third prize pen of Texel-cross lambs from J W Hall, Malham Moor, sold to Staffordshire buyer for £39 a head.

The 2500 plus store lambs forward saw huge demand, with total clearance achieving an average of £34.83 a head.
