Tackling lamb losses highlighed at sheep meetings

Sheep farmers in northern England wanting to brush up their knowledge of sheep husbandry, nutrition and health care have the chance to attend meetings being run by ADAS next week in Linconshire, Northumberland, Co Durham, Derbyshire and North Yorkshire.

The meetings will concentrate on the eight weeks’ pre-lambing and the six weeks’ post lambing and will focus on the steps that can be done to ensure as many lambs as possible survive from conception to sale.

Meetings will take place at Hexham and Northern Marts, Hexham, on Wednesday 3 February at 10.30am; at the Bentley Hotel, South Hykeham, Lincolnshire, on Wednesday 3 February at 7.30pm; at the Jersey Farm Hotel, Barnard Castle, Co Durham, on Thursday 4 February at 10.30am; at the Agricultural Business Centre, Bakewell, on Thursday 4 February at 10.30am; and at the Allerton Court Hotel, Northallerton, on Thursday 4 February at 7.30pm.
