Hope Valley lamb makes £70,000

Rob Evans of the Hope Valley flock has sold a tup lamb privately for £70,000 to Robert Jones, Dromonby flock, Northallerton.
Hope Valley Drago is an embryo transfer sired by Proctors Candy Crush, which Mr Evans purchased for 11,000gns at Lanark last year. His dam is a ewe by Sportsman A Star which was bought for 10,000gns from Alan Blackwood’s Auldhouseburn flock.

His grandfather is Sportsman Batman which sold for 100,000gns.
It is Mr Evans’ highest grossing sale to date. He has retained a share and plans to use him in his 25-ewe pedigree flock based in Minsterley, Shropshire, this year.
