Texel-cross lambs top at £89.50

A Robust trade for store lambs was seen at Skipton last week with demand for long-keep sheep particularly strong.

 

A pen of Texel-cross lambs sold for a top price of £89.50.  They were sold by W E and A Booth, Feizor, Settle to Warwick Gill of Melton Mowbray.

 

David and Roland Verity of Grange Farm, Bouthwaite, Ramsgill sold their prize-winning Masham wethers, for £49/head to Michael Spensley, Elslack.

 

A pen from Kevin Wilson, Blubberhouses, made £45.50/head when acquired by Mark Thompson, Long Preston.

 

Mr Spensley also purchased some wethers from Ken Lister, Kettlewell for £43.50 each.
