All eyes in the commercial show cattle world will be on Thainestone on September 2 when this year’s Thainestone Spectacular show and sale of show potential beasts takes place.
With stock traditionally coming forward from across Scotland and buyers from across the UK normally in attendance there will be plenty of buzz about the place.
And to reflect the changes in breeding herds across the country the show classes have been split with haltered sections divided according to age.
Tasked with selecting this year’s champions are some of the leading lights of the commercial cattle world, with Wendy Hunter taking on the steers and Elgin Jones tackling the heifer section. In a bid to help further afield buyers ANM is encouraging vendors to supply pictures of cattle forward which will then be displayed on the ANM website prior to the sale.
