Turbo shearling ram sells for 2000gns at Carlisle

A shearling ram sold for the top price of 2000gns at the annual production sale of the Turbo Dutch Texel flock, Carlisle.


Turbo Opera, by Turbo Monarch, was sold to joint purchasers, S Wood of West Mains, Castle Fraser and B Ryder, Annan Water, Moffat.


At the next best money was another shearling ram, Turbo Ohama, selling to D M and S Prince, Stonedge, Chesterfield for 1500gns. And Turbo Ohama’s sire, Turbo Magnum, sold for the next best bid of 1050gns to S Wood.


A shearling gimmer by Turbo Monarch went to J B and SM Mounsey, Ashfield, Irthington for 600gns. The same buyers also purchased another gimmer, this time by Turbo Motor, for 580gns.


At the same money was the shearling ram, Turbo Orbit, which sold to R and M Scott, Thirlwall Castle, Greenhead.


J B and S M Mounsey purchased the next three entries. The first of which was the shearling ram, Turbo Obscure, by Turbo Magnum selling for 550gns. Thier next purchases were two Turbo shearling gimmers by Den Burg King, both bought for 520gns.


Messrs Graham from Millerhill, Gilsland purchased a shearling ram by Turbo Motor for the same money.


S Wood was another repeat purchaser, buying two shearling gimmers for 500gns. The first of which was by T Veen and the second, by Turbo Monarch.


Another shearling gimmer went for the same money to T P Wigham of Coanwood, Haltwhistle.
