Twilight Texels sell to 7000gns

 

Lot 24 sold for 7,000 Guineas web 2.jpgA shearling gimmer from Clitheroe, Lancashire-based Proctors flock topped the Twilight sale of Texel females at 7000gns at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.

 

By Haddo Ringleader and out of a Douganhill Mc Fly dam, she is in-lamb to Scholars Twenty Twelve. Buyer was Stephen Cobbald, Acorns Farm, Sudbury, Suffolk.

 

Chesterfield, Derbyshire buyers D and S Prince paid 3500gns for a shearling gimmer from the Alwent flock of Nesbitt and Son, Darlington. By Allanfauld Rockafella and out of a ewe by Alwent Major Force, she was a second prize winner at Northumberland County show and is in-lamb to Teiglum Tennessee.

 

The Firm of G Gray, Selkirk gave 3000gns for another from the Proctors Farm consignment. This gimmer is by Haddo Ringleader and out of a ewe by Douganhill King. The service sire is Cairnam Talisman.

 

Proctors Farm also earned 2800gns for another Ringleader gimmer. Claimed by Stephen Cobbald, she is out of a Douganhill Masterpiece dam and in-lamb to the Scholars ram.

 

Mid-Wales breeders S and H Smith sold a gimmer from their Penparc flock at 2600 to fellow mid-Wales breeder E Morgan, Brecon. By Tamnamoney Ned and out of a Penparc King Pin ewe, she was in-lamb to Stonebridge Stonker.

 

Best for John and Linda Mellin’s Hull house flock at Skipton, north Yorkshire was 2200gns paid for a Castlecairn Red Arrow gimmer out of a ewe by Castlecairn Nairobi King dam. She heads for Doncaster with buyer J Lodge.

 

Also at 2200gns was a gimmer from G and G Wilkinson, Aspatria, Cumbria. By Halley Pringle and out of a Garngour Nobleman dam, she was in-lamb to Teiglum Topper. Buyer was W Douglas, Selkirkshire.
