Wales red meat promoter offers £3,000 travel scholarship

Hybu Cig Cymru-Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) is offering farmers and others that work in the red meat industry a once-in-a-lifetime chance to enhance their skillset on a global fact-finding mission through its annual HCC Scholarship scheme.

Previous HCC Scholars have visited North and South America, Australia, New Zealand and many other key farming destinations to learn more about how producer, processor and retailer innovations have boosted business, supported sustainability and primed profitability.

Chair of the HCC Scholarship Association, Eurion Thomas, said: “The red meat sector needs ambitious people of all ages to drive the industry forward in the future. These could be farmers, butchers or members of the processing sector. We would like to hear from all with drive, ambition and the industry’s development at heart.”

To enter you must identify a topic that you would like to investigate that could help improve your business and decide which country in the world you would like to visit for this purpose.

Then you need to fill in the application form which can be downloaded from the HCC website

Applications close on 17 June.
