Welshpool Charolais sell to 5200gns twice

Charolais bull trade at Welshpool last Thursday reached a peak of 5200gns twice, with the 51 lots selling to level the day at £3341.70.

First to take the top call was Wesley Debonair from Wesley Estates, Markfield. Sired by Balthayock Aesop this one is out of a homebred dam by Thrunton Trojan he was champion in the pre-sale show and sold to Peter and Mary Heard, Okehampton, Devon, with a TSI of +25 and an SRI of +29. Bred by Alwyn Rees, Machynlleth, he has a TSI of +35 and an SRI of +39 and sold to E G Morgan, Sennybridge, having been reserve male title at this year’s Welsh National Charolais show.Welshpool10Pennal Express.jpgA brace then sold at the next best call of 5000gns, with the first being Moelfre Exclusive from Kevin Thomas. Sired by Gretnahouse Vigarous and out of a homebred dam with lines back to Killadeas Jack, he sold with a TSI of +25 and an SRI of +32 to D H Parry, Oswestry.

The other transaction at this money came when Bob Roberts, Ucha, sold Brynffanigl Elvis to Will Owen, Criccieth. This is a Alsnow Almighty and out of a Doonally New daughter. He has a TSI of +18 and an SRI of +24.

Then at 4800gns was Seawell Equalizer from Peter and Sheila Donger. This is a Seawell Vainqueur daughter and sold with a TSI of +34 and an SRI of +43 to E R Matthews and Son, Knighton.

And making the same money was Caylers Enterprise from David and Louise Barker. This Burradon Talisman son has a TSI of +21 and an SRI of +30 and sold to P and M Davies, Brecon.

Making 4600gns was Trefaldwyn Everest from Arwel Owen. This son of Trefaldwyn Usk is out of a homebred dam which goes back to Edenhurst Shogun and has a TSI of +41 and an SRI of +48. He went to E L Lewis and Son, Machynlleth.

Another at the same price was Maerdy Emlyn from Esmor Evans. This son of 55,000gns Thrunton Voldemort is out of a homebred dam by Glencardon Piper and has a TSI of +19 and an SRI of +25. He sold to K Emerson, Thringstone.

Following that at 4500gns was Castlellmawr Endaf from Alwyn Williams. This son of 10,000gns sire Gwenog Vindicator and has a TSI of +23 and an SRI of +28. He went home with J E Evans and Son, Rhayader.
