Western Holsteins hit 4400gns at Beeston

Topping last week’s sale for the Western Holstein Club at Beeston was a 4400gns bid for Fordswood Final Cut Roxy, an ET bred heifer from Howard Warmsley, Garstang. This one, which stood reserve champion in the pre-sale show, is by Gillette Final Cut and out of Stardale Cinder Roxy 2, a dam with six lactations above 10,000kg to her credit. This one was bought by L G Brigham and Sons, Norfolk.

Second best was the pre-sale champion Edwern Damion Sunshine from Enchanted Holsteins. This Erbacres Damion daughter out of Edwern Stormatic Sunshine, a VG85 classified dam with a trio of 8000kg plus lactations in her record. She was also bought by the Brigham family at 3600gns.

Then at 3200gns was Dunnerdale Lou Aldina 3, a Jenny-Lou Marshall dauhter out of Dunnerdale Sam Aldina, a VG87 dam. This April 2008-born heifer sold having calved in July and was bought by J T Parkin, Barnard Castle.

Following that at 2600gns was Ridgefield Olympus Gremlin, a Ridgefield Olympus daughter out of Ridgefield Stormatic Gremlin from R C Rutter and Son. Bred from four generations of Ex and VG dams this was bought by T C Alderson and Son, North Yorkshire.

At the same price again was Hollowmoor Shottle Rhonda from J K and S Roberts. Sired by Picston Shottle and out of Hollowmoor Durham Rhonda, a VG88 dam, this close to calving heifer sold to M R Lee, Northamptonshire.

A brace also sold at 2500gns, with the first being Dunnerdale Damion Pretzel 2 from W W and D Boow. She is by Erbacres Damion and out of Dunnerdale Ignitor Pretzel and calved in early August. Buyer of this one was J and D Royal and Sons, Staffs. The second at this price was claimed by the same buyer and came from the same vendor. This was Dunnerdale Buckeye Aidina, a R-E-W Buckeye daughter out of Dunnerdale SS Aldina 5 and calved in mid-July.


Top call in the bulls on offer was a 2200gns bid for Townhouse T Rex from SFR Farming. this is Ladino Park Talent daughter out of Riverdane Breeze Rapture and sold to E Thomas Cardigan.

Following that at 2000gns was Willsbro Radical from the Wills family, Cornwall. This is a MD-Delight Durham Atlas son out of Stardale Leader Roxy and was bought by J Collinson, Lancashire.
