The team behind one of last year’s internet hits – the Yeo Valley rapping farmers – has launched a new ad featuring a farming-inspired boy band The Churned.
Yeo Valley Organic aired the two-minute film for the first time last Saturday (8 October) during The X Factor.
They song is a ballad-style track called Forever featuring four farmers singing about Yeo Valley’s ethos of farming in harmony with nature, as they drive tractors, feed calves and wander over the Mendip Hills.
The ad was shot on location in Blagdon in Somerset, where the original farm is situated and where the company is still based. Shorter versions of it will appear in later shows of The X Factor.
It aims to build on the success of the 2010 campaign, which featured the firm’s first TV ad. This has now been watched about 2m times on YouTube, became Twitter’s top trending topic worldwide and inspired hundreds of spoofs and remixes.
Yeo Valley weren’t the only dairy company to use last weekend’s The X Factor to launch a big ad: Muller aired a 90-second ad featuring a range of nostalgic cartoon characters including Yogi Bear and Mutley.
