Zwartbles lead Carlisle with a 700gns bid

Taking the top call of 700gns at the recent Zwartbles sale in Carlisle was Matthew Simpson, who sold a January 2009-born shearling from his Tardoes flock in lamb to Llepan Rowlands. Buyer here was K I and J Brunskill, Kirkby Stephen.

Two bids at 600gns then followed, the first of which secured another from the same flock, this time for a Stewarton-bred shearling scanned to have triplets by Llepan rowlands again. buyer here was T R Birkbeck, Kirkby Stephen.

The other at that money was an older ewe from Matthew Simpson again, this time for a 2007-born ewe bred in Carol Calder’s Heaton flock. This one was scanned carrying triplets by Tardoes Shaun and sold to M Haigh, Wigtown.

The best from the baillie and Jackson partnership was a shearling ewe whihc sold for 500gns to G Thornborrow, Peebles.
