Is this the most powerful four-cylinder tractor on the market? Valtra’s new N163 can pump out up to 171hp when in transport boost mode and more usually settles at 163hp. The Finnish firm says this has been made possible thanks to the adoption of an SCR AdBlue exhaust treatment system which has meant it can squeeze the maximum out of the engine without exceeding the latest emissions limits.
New lights, bonnet and grille mark the N-series apart from what has gone before. And up in the cab there is new software and a colour screen for the armrest computer.
The four-pot powerplant now sits in a sculpted chassis which has helped to reduce the turning circle by almost 1m and means an integrated front linkage can now be fitted.
