Mowers, tedders, foragers, balers, wrappers and clamp equipment from all the main manufacturers will be at work at this year’s Grassland UK event at Bridge Farm and Bagborough Farm, next to the Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
In fact the organisers say demand has been such that the working demonstration area has had to be expanded to 28ha (70 acres).
There are also more than 100 trade stands booked in.
The British Grassland Society is organising a series of 20-minute seminars between 10.30am and 3pm.
Two of these will cover cross compliance (one for contractors and one for farmers) and will be given by David Pettit, Kingshay Farming Trust.
Grass and total mixed rations will be the theme for a session by Piers Badnell, MDC extension officer, and colleague Hugh Black will reveal the latest information on cow tracks.
Other sessions will cover silage chop length and managing clover.
Grassland UK is organised by the Royal Bath and West of England Society, sponsored by Masstock, Terra and Natwest and supported by Farmers Weekly.
