Eima – Italy’s premier agricultural machinery event – took place recently at its Bologna venue. FWi was there to exclusively preview future machinery equipment.
Merlo has added yet another telescopic handler to its range. The 27.8 has a lift capacity of 2.7t and a maximum height of 8.2m. Horizontal reach is put at 5.3m. Available with rear three-point-linkage, the 27.8 is powered by a 105hp engine with a 40kph transmission.
Operators could be in for smoother ride – the company used the Eima event to display a prototype cab suspension system. When activated, the cab is suspended on four hydro-pneumatic rams, which provide 10cm of movement, with the rear of the cab attached to the main chassis by a pivot.
McCormick has extended its XTX line-up from three to five models, following the introduction at Eima of the XTX145 and XTX 165 tractors. Constructed with a new styling, the new models are powered by the Cummins/Iveco-developed European Engine Alliance six-cylinder power-plant used in the MTX range – 145hp and 167hp – with a 7.5% power boost for pto and transport operations.
Kuhn has launched a new muck spreader – the aptly named Pro Twin Slinger 8124. Two horizontal augers in the base of the machine move the manure – one takes it towards the rear and the other to the front, an arrangement which prevents bridging and keeps the load level, says Kuhn. Manure is spread by a flail unit at the front left-hand side – a hydraulic door is raised to allow muck to exit the spreader hopper. Spread width of this 12cu m machine is up to 16m. Running gear comprises leaf sprung, twin steering axles.
New Holland’s T7000 tractor was introduced to the Italian market at the Eima event. Due to be launched officially in the UK in January, the four-model T7000 range will replace the company’s TM tractors in the 165hp to 210hp power range.
A big event for Same Deutz-Fahr, the company has introduced two new models to each of its Same, Deutz and Lamborghini ranges. Rated at 85hp and 100hp, the models have been designated the Same Explorer3 85 and 100, which replace the current Explorer models, the Lamborghini R3.EVO 85 and 100, which replace the Target 95 and the Deutz-Fahr Agrofarm, which is a new addition. These new models are expected to be available in the UK from early next year. Prices have yet to be allocated.
A new telehandler from Dieci, the Atlante 40.9 has a maximum lift capacity of 4000kg – 3000kg at its full lift height of 8.8m. Maximum horizontal extension is rated at an impressive 4.8m. Powered by a water-cooled 102hp Iveco, a 4 x 3 gearbox drives through a torque converter complete with powershift. Standard features include four-wheel steer with a self-levelling front axle available as an option. The machine’s joystick-controlled hydraulic system uses a gear pump and operates at 200bar pressure.
Massey Ferguson’s new 3600-series tractors made their debut appearance at Eima. Offering a power range from 58hp to 91hp in four models, these machines are aimed at the smaller scale farmer.
Powered by Sisu engines and available in two- or four-wheel drive, the transmission offers 24F x 24R ratios. Rear linkage has a 2500kg lift capacity.
First showing for Deutz Fahr’s new Agrotron X-series tractors at Eima. The 269hp X720 and the 243hp X710 tractors with their Tier III engines become the new range flagships for the lime-green line-up. They replace the Agrotron 215 and 265 models. Similar power ranges in Lamborghini and Same brands will also be replaced with their own designations of the X-series.
