John Deere’s largest conventional-wheeled tractor to date is due to make its first appearance at the Cereals event in June this year.

Recently, the tractor smashed fuel-efficiency records for both field and transport work, while outperforming its nearest competitor by nearly 23% on drawbar performance, according to John Deere. All tests were carried out at the DLG test centre in Germany.

The huge 9-litre lump can pump out 450hp with boost and is matched with the company’s e23 transmission.

As standard, the tractor has stacks of electronic wizardry, including JDLink telematics with wireless data transfer from the tractor to MyJohnDeere website.

Also on show, and linked to one of the working plots at the Lincolnshire site, will be JD’s popular 750A all-till drill, which is available in 3m, 4m and 6m widths.

The drill has become popular with growers who want one drill to plant into conventional cultivations or single-pass direct drilling while also capable of grassland renovation.

With a single disc on each opener the minimal disturbance drill is most at home drilling into stale seedbeds moving minimal dirt.
