Novel marker system to identify damp bales

Best known for its Baler’s Choice high moisture hay additive, the Profitable Farming Company has introduced a novel marking system to identify damp – and potentially troublesome – bales.

When the system senses moisture levels above those preset by the operator (typically around 17% in straw and 27-30% for hay with additive), it sounds an alarm and sprays food-grade marker along the side of the bale.

A solid line indicates the whole thing is over the limit while dashes highlight just the parts of the bale which are overly wet.

All this allows the person clearing the field the chance to separate out potentially lower quality feed or straw. The company also offers an individual bale tagging system to give full traceability.
