A CUT in retail prices by some 20%, and a strong suggestion that New Holland tractors for the UK market will all be produced in blue livery within the next five years, was announced at Smithfield.
Hand in hand with these announcements comes news of several new tractor introductions.
Replacing the 7840 is now the 6-cylinder 100hp TS115 – an introduction which completes New Hollands TS range, providing a power band from 80hp – 100hp. Built in the style of existing models the 115 has a naturally aspirated 7.5 litre Power Star engine. Improved torque back-up, smoother running and increased service intervals are claimed.
Transmission options, as before, comprise the 16 x 16 ElectroShift and the 24 x 24 Dual Command system. Other basic statistics include a linkage lift capacity of 6900kg, gate-side weight of 4740kg and 4.4m turning radius.
Four new Series TL tractors have made their appearance – only in blue for the UK market – replacing the previous five-model Series L/35 range. Model designations of TL70, TL80, TL90 and TL100 offer power ratings of 65hp, 75hp, 85hp and 95hp respectively.
TL tractors are powered by Iveco 8000 series water cooled engines – the TL70 and TL80 by naturally aspirated versions and the larger two, employing a Garrett turbocharger.
Other New Holland news involves the launch of three new TN-D and TN-S tractors covering a power range from 50hp-75hp.S versions are equipped with New Hollands SuperSteer front axleto increase manoeuvrability.
All TN models are powered by 3-cylinder Iveco 8000 engines.

DualCommand allows clutchless gear changes and provides a power shuttle facility.
