440gns top call
BELTEX ewes made the best prices when Margot Burton dispersed her De Busli multi-breed flock of pedigree sheep at Gloucester.
The top call of 440gns came from an unnamed Shropshire breeder for a February 1997-born Beltex ewe sired by one of the Frazier familys Conningswick rams. The twin sister realised 400gns to Miss R Jones, Raglan, Gwent who also gave 300gns for a Beltex-cross ewe carrying two pedigree embryos.
Welsh interest was maintained when R M Jones, Cardigan, gave 390gns for a 1996-bred ewe which helped to achieve a level of £362 for 12 Beltex females.
