Accurate meter made to measure flow

MILK flow can now be measured accurately using the Dairymaster Weighall meter, according to UK supplier Monkshill Farm Systems.

Volumetric milk meter readings can be affected by air and milk fat content, it cautions. But the Dairymaster meter weighs the milk as it passes to the milk line.

Monkshill adds that the Weighall, which was recently given the green light by the International Committee for Animal Recording, may be used manually or with computerised automated identification and feeding systems. The Weighall is also designed to take a 250ml sample bottle that can speed up milk sampling.

Prices start from £1050 for a basic Weighall unit with manual identification keyboard (01291-622275).
