Advisers get together

Rapid incorporation of research findings into day-to-day cropping advice is one of the aims of a new integrated advisory service being piloted in Yorkshire.

Advisers and scientists based at ADAS High Mowthorpe have been brought together to form the privatised services first joint consultancy and research team.

The move aims to improve the profitability of farmer customers and help direct research projects.

"We need to meet farmers on a regular basis to keep us aware of what is happening on a commercial farm basis and to make farmers aware of what is happening in research," said team manager Sue Ogilvy.
