Another award for cheese…

NORTH YORKS cheesemaker Judy Bell has picked up another award adding to her long list of successes. Shepherds Purse, her farm-based business – featured in Farmlifes Food Special (Oct 22) – collected the coveted first prize at Supermarketings Quality Food and Drink Awards.

The winning product was a Yorkshire Blue cheese, sold through ASDA for £9.99/kg. "A good balance of flavours – a very grown up cheese," remarked one of the judges. "Very creamy for a blue cheese. It has a unique taste, a lot of blue veining, and a lovely long after-taste," said another.
