Arable margins estimated

AGRO Business Consultants, farm management information specialist, has included a new section on arable gross margins in its bi-annual Agricultural Budgeting and Costing book.

“We felt that people wanted information on likely returns while they were considering next years cropping plans,” says editor Richard King.

Gross margins for winter milling wheat are estimated at 589/ha (238/acre) and 581/ha (235/acre) for feed wheat.

Winter beans are projected to have the highest gross margin of the break crops at 470/ha (190/acre).

The book covers most types of farm enterprise, from organic systems to rural grant schemes.
