Competitors in the floral arrangement classes were set the challenge of interpreting initials, for example RSPB, ABTA, BBC and UFO. Naturally enough "WI" was the theme for Huxley cup competitors. This is the class for Womens Institute federations. It was won by Glamorgan (right) with a "Jam and Jerusalem" exhibit, accessorised with jars of gooseberry jam, fruit, scales and sheet music. Huntingdon & Peterborough received a commendation for a work acknowledging the movements debtto its founder, Madge Watts MA, MBE (1867-1948), and its commitment to the future.
