An overcast and wet market day at Oswestry, Shropshire, last week… among the cull ewes, top price was £39.50, with an average of £19.07. Finished lambs made to 116.85p/kg. In the dairy section there were 66 animals entered, including this heifer from Barbara Brown of Lampeter, which made £670. Overall, cows sold to £650, averaging £468. Heifers made to £780, levelling £566. Dairy stock prices were well down on the previous week, says auctioneer John Brereton.
