Arguments about the pros and cons of genetic modification and the technologys impact on both farmers and consumers continue to rage. In London on Tuesday, Friends of the Earth campaigners mounted a protest outside a conference organised by Agrochemical giant Monsanto. Meanwhile, in Kirby Bedon, near Norwich, about 25 protesters have set up camp and are establishing an "organic" garden on a Novartis GM beet test site on Crown Point Estates land. See page 10.
