&#8226 FARMERS driving tractors and other slow-moving machinery are being urged by the Country Landowners Association to show maximum highway courtesy as a safeguard against sparking incidents of road rage during the main holiday season.

"We urge all farmers, farm workers and contractors to take every opportunity to pull off public roads to allow following traffic to pass and prevent the build-up of tailbacks," said CLA north Wales secretary Judith Matthews.

&#8226 SHADOW farm minister Michael Jack is calling on the government to find time to allow MPs to be fully included in the fight against the spread of bovine tuberculosis.

"Ministers tell us that bovine TB is at the top of their priority list, but so far they have not been willing to fight for parliamentary time to let those representing farming interests in parliament have their say on the governments approach to countering this serious illness," he said.
