Buyers from across the UK attended Frome market recently for the winter store sale. Upwards of 600 stores were sold, and trade jumped by an average of £50 a head, says auctioneer David Lock. British-bred cattle attracted buoyant trade, notably a pen of light Aberdeen-Angus steers which fetched 144p/kg. Standard green-ticketed Continentals made 100-110p/kg.
