Early riser…this team from Russell Burgess Veg started lifting Javelin parsnips at 5am at Hall Farm, Bury St Edmunds, to ensure fresh supplies reach supermarket shelves the next day. Yielding 74t/ha (30t/acre), up to 40% are discarded as unfit before leaving the field, saving on transport. The company hopes to harvest 60-70t daily through until April.
