MORE paperwork has been submitted to the EU Commissions competition watchdogs by the Federation of Small Businesses as it continues its efforts to bring down the Assured Combinable Crops Scheme.

The federation says the recent Wye College report on ACCS, which it has sent to the commissions competition directorate DGIV, shows that most farmers oppose farm assurance. "It also finds that it (ACCS) will discount UK grain, which is effectively illegal trade distortion within the Single Market," said Bob Robertson, FSB agriculture committee chairman.

The FSB submitted a formal complaint to the commission last year claiming, among other things, that ACCS would not be the voluntary scheme it purported to be. &#42
